Who these terms are between

These terms cover website design and build work by Wright Click Studios, a sole proprietorship based in Fort Mill, South Carolina (“we,” “us”). “You” means the business, church or organisation buying that work.

They apply from the moment you accept a quote or ask us to begin the build. Nothing here restricts the free design preview — that stage carries no obligation on either side, and you can walk away from it without owing anything.

If we have signed a separate written agreement with you, that agreement wins wherever the two disagree.

The free design preview

Before you pay anything, we design a real section of your homepage so you can see the direction rather than take our word for it. This is free, and asking for one does not commit you to hiring us.

Until you accept a quote and the project begins, the preview design stays ours. You are welcome to think it over for as long as you like, but please don't hand it to another designer to copy or build from — that is the one thing that would make it impossible for us to keep offering previews for free.

Price and what is included

Website builds are $500, flat, quoted and agreed before we start. There are no hourly charges, nothing is added to the bill later, and there is no monthly fee of any kind.

The price covers design, build, testing on phones, tablets and computers, basic setup so search engines can read the site correctly, launch, and handoff.

It does not cover fees charged by other companies, which you pay directly and which we will always tell you about before anything is bought:

  • Domain registration and renewal (typically $10–$20 a year).
  • Website hosting, if your chosen host is a paid one.
  • Business email, if you want an address at your own domain.
  • Paid stock photography, fonts or plugins, if you want something licensed.

Anything outside the agreed scope — extra pages, a second round of new content, features discussed after the quote — is quoted separately and never started without you saying yes to the price first.

Payment

Payment is split in two: half when you accept the quote and we begin the build, and half when the site goes live. We will send an invoice for each.

The final half is due within 14 days of launch. If an invoice goes unpaid past 30 days we may take the site offline until it is settled — we would always call you first, and in practice this has never had to happen.

What you need to give us

A two-week build depends almost entirely on how fast the content comes in. We will ask you for a specific list, but broadly:

  • Your text, or the facts we need to write it — services, prices, hours, service area.
  • Photos and your logo, at the best quality you have.
  • Access to your domain, or permission for us to register one in your name.
  • A single person who can make decisions and give approvals.

If we are waiting on you for more than 30 days, we may pause the project and pick it back up when you are ready. If it stalls past 90 days we may close it out and invoice for the work completed to that point.

Timeline

A typical build runs about two weeks from the point where we have your content and a signed-off direction. That is a genuine estimate based on the work we do, not a guaranteed delivery date, and it moves if the content does.

We will tell you as soon as we know a date is going to slip, and why.

Changes and revisions

Design is a conversation, so changes are expected and included:

  • Two rounds of revisions while we settle the look and feel.
  • One final pass after you review the private preview link and before launch.
  • Typos, broken links and anything we got wrong — fixed at any point, not counted as a revision.

Beyond that, or if you change direction after the look and feel is signed off, we will quote the extra work before doing it. We would rather have an awkward conversation about $150 than quietly resent a project.

Ownership and handoff

The finished website and its web address belong to you. Not to us, and not to a platform you have to keep paying. Once the final invoice is settled, ownership of the design and the site files transfers to you outright.

At launch we hand over everything: the site files, the domain and hosting logins, and any accounts we set up on your behalf. Accounts are registered in your name and with your email wherever the provider allows it, so nothing depends on us still being around.

Two things we keep. We retain ownership of our own underlying tools, code libraries and techniques, which we reuse across projects — you get an unrestricted licence to the site they produced, not the toolbox. And we reserve the right to show the finished site in our portfolio and on social media, unless you ask us in writing not to, which is always fine and never costs you anything.

Your content, and what you are promising us

You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, everything you send us — text, photos, logos, fonts, reviews and anything else. We have no practical way to verify that, so we rely on you.

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of what your site says: prices, claims, licence numbers, professional disclaimers, and any rules specific to your trade. If a claim on your site causes a problem, that sits with you, and you agree to cover us for any third-party claim arising from material you supplied.

We will not build a site whose purpose is illegal, deceptive, or targets a person for harassment. We may decline or stop a project on those grounds and refund anything paid for work not yet done.

Other companies' services

Your site will rely on services we do not control — the domain registrar, the host, your email provider, form and analytics tools. Their terms and their prices are between you and them, and their outages are not something we can be responsible for.

We will pick reputable providers, set them up properly, and tell you what each one costs before it is bought.

After launch

For 30 days after launch we will fix anything that is broken in what we built, free. That means genuine faults — a form that stops sending, a layout that breaks on a phone, a link that goes nowhere.

It does not cover new content or changes of mind — new photos, updated prices, an added page. Those are quoted separately, usually small, and we are happy to do them.

There is no ongoing maintenance plan and no retainer. Once the site is yours, you can call us for changes, do them yourself, or hand the whole thing to somebody else. That is the point of you owning it.

What we do not promise

We build sites to load fast, work on phones, and be readable by search engines. We set up the technical groundwork properly and we will tell you honestly what we think it will do.

We cannot and do not guarantee search rankings, traffic, phone calls, or revenue. Nobody can — Google's results are not ours to control, and they change. Any figure we mention is an example of what is possible, not a promise of what you will get.

The website scorecard we hand out for free is an automated assessment offered as-is. It is a useful starting point, not an audit, and no professional relationship is created by requesting one.

Cancelling

You can stop the project at any time by telling us in writing. You keep everything paid for and completed to that point; the deposit covers work already done and is not refunded once the build has started.

We can also step away — if the work turns out to be something we cannot do well, if the relationship is not working, or under the circumstances in the content clause above. If we do, we will refund anything you have paid for work not yet delivered, and hand over what has been completed.

Limits on our liability

We take the work seriously and we carry the responsibility that goes with it. But to be clear about the ceiling: our total liability for any claim connected to a project is limited to what you paid us for that project.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profits, lost business, lost data, or costs from a third-party service failing.

Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including fraud or personal injury caused by negligence.

Privacy

When you contact us through the site, we receive what you type into the form — your name, business, and an email address or phone number — plus which page you sent it from. It goes to one inbox: ours.

We use it to reply to you and nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it, or add you to a mailing list. Ask us to delete it at any time and we will.

If analytics is running on this site, it measures pages and events in aggregate, not individual people.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the business changes. The version that applies to your project is the one in effect on the day your project started, and we will not change the terms of a project already underway without telling you.

The date at the top of this page is when it was last revised.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina. Any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts serving York County, South Carolina.

Before anyone files anything, we ask that you call us. Almost everything is fixable with a phone call, and we would much rather have that conversation.
